New Tasting Room

Introducing the New Sanford Winery Tasting Room

Inspired by the California mission-style, the new Sanford tasting room is a two-story structure built from nature’s finest raw materials, including 100-year-old reclaimed barn wood from Washington State. These timbers were also used to build the adjacent winery. The foundation of the building is constructed from native California stone and the building’s exterior is comprised of more than 15,000 handmade adobe bricks. These same adobe bricks were also used in the Rancho La Rinconada winery, recognized in 2006 by Wine & Spirits magazine as one of the top examples of winery architectural design in the U.S.

With the opening of the tasting room, Sanford now provides visitors with a complete winery experience all in one location, including tours of the winery and vineyards, a tasting room and wine retail sales. The setting is warm and intimate, the tasting room includes a private room for small groups or educational tastings, a kitchen and a spacious, covered porch, which surrounds the entire building and offers extraordinary 360-degree views of the vineyards and the Sta. Rita Hills.

Also of note is the comfortable outdoor fireplace and its surrounding seating area, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax while enjoying a glass of Sanford Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, along with the magnificent views.
