Terlato Wines and Bravo's 'Top Chef' Unveil Quickfire Wines
Lake Bluff, Ill. – October 6, 2009 – The perfect pairing: Top Chef and America’s top quality family wine company. Inspired by the awarding-winning cooking series, Terlato Wines International has launched two new Napa Valley wines, Quickfire Napa Valley Chardonnay and Quickfire Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
“Top Chef,” Bravo’s Emmy and James Beard Award-winning, No. 1 food show on cable that features some of the top names in food, has partnered with the Terlato family to craft two elegant and balanced wines for its brand. Named for the show’s exciting Quickfire Challenge, where chef'testants compete in fast-paced culinary trials, Quickfire Chardonnay and Quickfire Cabernet Sauvignon take on the ultimate challenge—to be versatile enough to complement a wide range of food styles.
“The world’s top chefs strive for perfect balance and harmony in pairing food and wine,” says TWI President and CEO Bill Terlato. “Fine wine is a critical element in today’s culinary culture, and ‘Top Chef’ understands this. It’s a wonderful partnership—world class dining complemented by world class wines.”
For more than a half-century, the Terlato family has brought some of the world’s finest wines to American tables to enhance the culinary experience, and Quickfire wines will now be among them. “We’re driven to produce the high quality wines from exceptional vineyards just as the world’s top chefs are driven to source the best ingredients and serve inspired cuisine,” says Terlato.
The 2008 Quickfire Napa Valley Chardonnay has crisp acidity and exhibits flavors of Granny Smith apples with a hint of orange blossom. This full-bodied wine exudes creamy notes reminiscent of great white Burgundies. This wine will pair well with roasted chicken, pork loin or veal dishes as well as fresh fish and shellfish.
The 2005 Quickfire Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits blackberry and currant flavors along with notes of dark chocolate and cassis. With silky tannins and a long finish, this wine will pair well with grilled or braised meats and game.
Quickfire wines are being released this October.
