Paterno Wines, Bulova and Allstate Home & Auto Insurance Join Line-Up of 2005 Pacific Life Open Sponsors
Coca-Cola and Baccarat Also Sign On For ’05; Fila Renews For Four More Years Leading Pack Of Returning Sponsors For 30th Anniversary of Tournament

Indian Wells, CA, January 3, 2005 – Renowned corporations Paterno Wines International, Bulova, Allstate Home & Auto Insurance, Coca-Cola and Baccarat, have signed on as five new sponsors of the 2005 Pacific Life Open, Charlie Pasarell, tournament chairman, announced today. The Pacific Life Open, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2005 as one of the major tennis tournaments in the world, will be held March 7-20, 2005, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Paterno Wines International, The Expert in Luxury Wines in the United States, has a global portfolio of 42 world-class brands including Santa Margherita, Rutherford Hill and Markham. Paterno Wines has committed to a one-year sponsorship of the Pacific Life Open. Bulova, a true leader in the time-keeping industry, was founded in 1875 and remains one of the world's most recognized brands with its award-winning watches and clocks. Both join the tournament as Host sponsors.

Allstate Home & Auto Insurance is a part of the Allstate Corporation, the nation’s largest publicly held personal lines insurer, providing insurance products to more than 16 million households in the U.S. and Canada. Coca-Cola, the leading brand among the Coca-Cola Company’s nearly 400-beverage portfolio, is the most popular and best-selling soft drink in history. Baccarat, founded in 1764, is globally recognized as the eminent creator of luxury crystal. One of its 12 freestanding boutiques is located in Palm Desert. All three join the tournament as Patron sponsors.

We are thrilled to welcome Paterno Wines International, Bulova, Allstate Home & Auto Insurance, Coca-Cola and Baccarat as new sponsors of the Pacific Life Open,” said Charlie Pasarell, tournament chairman. “They each embody what this tennis tournament is about – tradition and quality.

The tournament also welcomes back a number of familiar Host sponsors including Fila, who renewed its sponsorship of the tournament for four additional years. Also returning is Head Tennis Racquets, Penn Tennis Balls, Mercedes-Benz, the City of Indian Wells, and Steve Furgal’s International Tennis Tours.

Head has announced it will be unveiling new racquet technology at the tournament, and Penn has a long history with the Pacific Life Open as its official ball since 1981. Mercedes-Benz is now in its ninth year as a tournament sponsor and for the third year, it will entertain patrons in the beautifully decorated Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Center located on the grounds. The San Diego-based Steve Furgal’s International Tennis Tours is on board with the Pacific Life Open through 2007, and this marks its only corporate sponsorship.

Also signing Patron sponsorship renewals are Jeffrey Scott Magnetics, who is renewing for five years, MathisBrothers Furniture, and Tennis Warehouse, on board for three more years. Based in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Tennis Warehouse will construct a 3,200 square foot retail location on site at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. As an online retailer, its location at the tournament is its only “store” where goods can be bought in person, rather than via the web. And as part of MathisBrothers Family Weekend, MathisBrothers will again feature its “Best Seats of the House” promotion over the first weekend in which a family of four is chosen to sit in MathisBrothers recliners in the front row of the stadium each day.

All of our sponsors bring something unique to the table,” added Pasarell. “They enhance the quality of the experience for the fans and the players.

The Pacific Life Open is the first major event of the tennis season played in the United States, featuring ATP and WTA players at the spectacular Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the second-largest tennis stadium in the world. The event is one of nine elite ATP Masters Series events on the ATP Tour and a premier WTA Tour Tier I tournament – the highest levels of competition for both men and women after the Grand Slams. The men and women’s draw will both feature 96 singles players, 32 doubles teams and 48 singles qualifiers, offering fans two full weeks of action.
