HANNA Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a world-renowned cardiac surgeon, who was eager to find a place in the country to continue the farming heritage of his upbringing. In 1991, Dr. Hanna's oldest daughter, Christine, took the reins, and has been successfully leading winery operations, producing exceptional wines and making HANNA Winery a popular Sonoma destination. Dr. Hanna’s original purchase of 12 acres in the Russian River Valley in the 1970s has grown to 600 acres across the Alexander Valley and the Moon Mountain District of Sonoma County. Today, Christine Hanna embodies the Sonoma lifestyle, epitomizing the region's DIY approach to food, wine, gardening, design and entertaining. Following the release of her cookbook, "The Winemaker Cooks," she creates and promotes her recipes alongside her food-friendly wines.
