Matthew Wenk represents some of Two Hands’ young talent. The leader of the winemaking team since 2002, Wenk received his education from Australia’s Roseworthy oenology program, earning special honors for his efforts. In 2002, after five years of experience at a pre-eminent Adelaide Hills vineyard (plus stints in Sonoma Valley and France), Wenk became Two Hands’ principal winemaker. Wenk’s stewardship results in the many variations of Two Hands’ Australian Shiraz, plus other unique offerings. Additionally, Wenk’s capacity for learning never quits: He recently finished a course of study abroad in the wine regions of France, Italy and Spain.

Taras Ochota serves as Wenk’s assistant. After the once free-spirited student graduated from the University of South Australia, his professional wine career evolved through stints in vineyard management in the Adelaide Hills, plus additional time at vineyards in California. Ochota earned an oenology degree of his own from Adelaide University, and now teams with Wenk in the creation of Two Hands’ unique portfolio.
