The Rothschild Family Logo:
Five Brothers, Five Arrows. The five arrows on the Rothschild family logo represent the original five Rothschild brothers and their individual economic and social contributions to the world.

Throughout the family's long history, it has been understood that each child born into the family had an obligation to serve the dynasty by upholding its reputation.

200 years ago, Amschel Rothschild's wife, Gutle, affirmed this belief with her five sons, before they left home to conquer the economic world of Europe. She told them, "Any mistake by one of you can have consequences for the others."

Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, of France’s “preeminent wine family,” purchased the Château des Laurets in 2003. The Rothschilds’ legacy in France not only involved wine, but finance, banking and philanthropy as well. The Baron’s ability to make legendary wine, plus the historic credibility of the Rothschild name, ensures Château des Laurets' (Rothschild) dedication to high quality.

The arrival of the Baron de Rothschild brought about an ambitious mission for Château des Laurets (Rothschild): “Bring the Château to its full potential.”

As part of Rothschild’s goal to bring about the full potential for wines of Château des Laurets (Rothschild), renovations have occurred in production that will enhance the high-quality wines. Temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks have been recently installed, and micro-oxygenation is used during maceration. But time-tested practices are still at work: the vineyard is managed to low yields to assure maximum grape ripeness; and the winery is still devoted to manual harvesting and sorting.
