The Château des Laurets was built in 1860. An impressive, octagonal tower and a picturesque spire dominate the roofline of this château, and can be seen from all over the nearby lands.

Located on the Right Bank of the Gironde River in Bordeaux, Château des Laurets (Rothschild) benefits from the unique terroir of this micro-appellation. Gravels found in the Pyrenees mountains to the south find their way into the soil here, as do varying forms of clay and limestone. The Right Bank appellations also use the Merlot grape as the dominant varietal. This fruit benefits from the clay and limestone that is prevalent throughout St. Émilion and its micro-appellations.

Château des Laurets (Rothschild) — originally Tour des Laurets — became part of the legendary Rothschild dynasty in 2003, when it was purchased by the Baron Benjamin de Rothschild. Known for a commitment to excellence and a history of success in banking, finance and philanthropy, the Rothschild family is preeminent in the wine industry, with a tradition of producing only the highest quality wines.
