Doorway
Established in 1890, Tenuta Il Poggione has become one of the most highly regarded and sought-after Brunello di Montalcino producers. This Tuscan estate, or tenuta, is owned by the Franceschi family, who continue to build on their already stellar reputation. Originally drawn to the beauty of the land, the Franceschis believe that the principle value of land is in its capacity for the cultivation of the vine. Today, fourth generation proprietor Leopoldo Franceschi owns and oversees each step of the winemaking process at Il Poggione, from cultivating the land to hand-picking the grapes to bottling the wine, a philosophy enhanced by the use of organic substances and all-natural products.

The winemaking has been entrusted to Fabrizio Bindocci, whose family has been employed by the Franceschi family for generations. Bindocci began working for the Franceschis over 25 years ago, under the direction of world-renowned Piero Talenti. Together they worked side by side, as Bindocci became a kind of oenological son to Talenti. Today, Fabrizio Bindocci carries on the Il Poggione winemaking philosophy: To create wines of impeccable quality and style
