Nederburg Winemaster's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Ruby red in color, this wine is rich, bold and full-bodied, and exhibits refreshing fruit flavors of ripe cherry and black currant. Hints of vanilla and spice and structured tannins make it the perfect accompaniment to roast lamb, beef, vension or game bird dishes.

The grapes were picked on taste, harvested at optimum ripeness between 23° and 25° Balling, both by hand and machine. Bunches were gently destemmed and fermented between 77° and 82° F in vertical stainless steel tanks, open and roto-fermenters for an average of 14 days. Regular and vigorous mixing of the skins extracted the maximum of color and the ripe tannins.
After alcoholic fermentation the wine was removed from the skins to undergo malolactic fermentation, and immediately transferred for maturation to a meticulously planned combination of tanks, large oak vats and 300 liter French oak barrels that included a significant percentage of new wood.
